Hi there!
My name is Vickeidy, and I am the hands and heart behind @sewspicious. Born and raised in the Dominican Republic, I now call NYC home. My quilting journey began in 2017 when I started refurbishing vintage sewing machines. That’s when I stumbled upon a Singer 221 and learned it’s considered the ideal machine for quilters. Curious, I googled “quilting” and instantly fell in love with the craft. In 2018, I set a New Year’s resolution to start quilting, and I’ve been hooked ever since. By 2022, I began designing and writing my own quilt patterns. Over the years, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for vibrant, bold colors and intricate patterns, which are reflected in my work. I’d describe my personal style as modern quilting, blending traditional techniques with fresh, contemporary designs.

Alegría means happiness in Spanish, my native language. The colors in my bundle are inspired by a specific happiness: the feeling I get when I travel to the Dominican Republic, where I was born and raised. I feel embraced by my home—just like a warm quilt.
